Dr. Sunil Taneja is from the first batch of physicians who has received formal training in the field of Hepatology from Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, a premiere institute of the country. He is presently working as Assistant Professor in the department of Hepatology, PGIMER, Chandigarh, India. He did his MBBS in 2000, MD (Internal Medicine) in 2005 from Indira Gandhi Medical college, Shimla and DM (Hepatology) from PGIMER, Chandigarh in 2011. He is adept in management of patients suffering from a wide variety of liver diseases, ICU care of critically sick patients and pre and post-operative management of patients who have undergone Liver transplantation.
He is member of National Academy of Medical Sciences, Indian Society of Gastroenterology, Indian National Association for Study of Liver, International society for Hepatic encephalopathy and Nitrogen Metabolism and European Association of Study of Liver.
